That's a very clean looking range and a very good deal for $40.00. It would look pretty neat lit up. It has a panel light in the upper area of the backsplash where the Hotpoint logo is located controlled by the switch on the left. The pushbuttons for the burners light up in different colors to designate the different heat settings. The timer/clock panel would light up too. Stuff made today doesn't compare in quality or appearance IMO. Hope someone gets it that appreciates it.
For some daft reason I feel like I need to rescue this, unfortunately the Reply button in the ad doesn't seem to work. Noting how old the ad is, I hope it wasn't scrapped.
I just tried the reply button too and no dice. First time Ive ever seen that message come up when clicking on reply. Usually if the ad is still up reply is possible. When it gets old enough it expires.
Friends of our family had this range in their basement, kept as the "extra" range when they replaced it with a new TOL Hotpoint in the kitchen. It was always dark and I longed to see it with the panel light on. I had occasion to try it once and probably gasped audibly when it flickered on. Yup, I was in high school. Lol
That extra button is not a heat range, but I cant remember exactly what it does, if I can find the book I will see, I believe it allows you to time each of the surface units.
Phil, it looks like the ad ran its course and naturally expired (2 mo's). I bet it got dumped for scrap. Damn shame as I'm within striking distance : )
