What are these folks thinking trying to get that kind of price for something in that rough of shape? Just because it is old, doesn't mean it will bring gold!
They've been trying to sell that for a VERY long time.

I had one of these once and played around with it. As far as I know there are only three of these in existence and Jon in Mass. has a working one. I sold mine to another member. Would have loved to get it to work but it was beyond my ability to get it to run, though it would rotate and fill with water. Too bad this one is so expensive as it would be a great addition to a collection.

There is something about the styling that makes me think of Chambers stoves and its more than just than handle hardware. Not to go off topic but I will anyway are shipping pallets mostly made of plastic now days? Last thing we received on a pallet was a huge projection television many years ago. I remember that pallet as being wood. arthur

been trying to sell it? That is just ridiculous, beyond ridiculous IMHO. --Rich! Coppertone indeed too funny!
Yes I did have one and after a lot of sweat equity in building a custom pressure switch for the tranny I did get it working. It ran a couple times and then the transmission caught fire and burned!! It was out the door after that!! I don't keep burners in my house as "Robert the Firestarter" can attest too!!
That transmission is wholly complex and easily prone to jamming up. And I really didn't see it as an even good washer. My impression of it was a half baked idea from the start , once you throw that handle on the front she starts and goes to through the whole cycle to stop. There is no way of changing, repeating any part of the cycle. Its all or nothing, so it was designed by men who NEVER did laundry themselves. These are just nice curiosity pieces-that should never be plugged in.

Jon, Thank you for the update on yours. How does a tranmission catch fire? Were the electrical contacts that it controlled a contributing factor? I am sorry you lost it after all of the work you went to in acquiring it. Wasn't this machine the one you had to remove from the basement of that abandoned house?
I have only seen one of these in my life. It was bolted to the floor on a service porch off the kitchen in a home in Atlanta. This would have been about 1958 or 59 and it was still in use. Just like with a Maytag, I found the whole idea of a machine where you could not watch the laundry moving around frustrating. At least this had the window so you could watch the drum turning.

The transmission was a leaker and it was coated with oil and grease, there were many connectors and switches bolted to the outside of that tranny. I was running it when I smelled smoke, when I look under the skirt the outside was in flames all over one side and so it went right out the door! It was fun stealing this machine from an abandoned house, it was bolted to the basement floor and it was a BIG old house. It made for a fun weekend!!

You could probably get it to work with the components of a new belt drive WP. Including the motherboard. Funny to think that the oldest could be made better with the newest. And the newest are the worse thing that ever happened. alr
Their "Rusttone" washer IS NOT complete-its missing the window!

launderall jacobs washing machine
hello i am new to vintage appliance collecting and i came across a launderall sl 1 model its 100 percent there just needs to be restored the owner says the model isnt froozen but it does need to be re porcelain and the metal redone but otherwise all there just missing the circular glass on the top and the tag plates on the back he is asking 600 is it worth it can anyone please shoot me an email [email protected] and if not where i can buy 1 in good shape thanks
