Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

The range is actually quite good, self-cleaning oven and all, the ref unfortunately is really a cheaply built noisy POS, about the only good thing about this series of WCI refs was that they were usually somewhat reliable even though the freezer was usually on the warm side of 0F and the ref section was often freezing your produce and the temperatures in the ref section were very uneven.

Same as A Gibson range

Hi Jamie, you are correct, and it was also the same as a Whirlpool range of the same time period.

The ref is also the same as Gibson refs and the cheap Kenmore refs of this time period.

Gibson and Kelvinator were already owned by WCI by this time and their product lines were already combined.

As nice as it appears, I would never own this fridge for one deal-breaker of a reason.  Its design is a cheap one that has one particular defect that annoys the hell out of me.  If my shoe is positioned within the arc of the door swing, it will act as a door stop because there isn't enough clearance.  I hate cheap refrigerators that possess this flaw -- and most of them are butt ugly compared to this Kelvy.

The edged Fawn or Doeskin color is interesting; at first I thought it was a bad picture of Harvest Gold. I'm not surprised that Kelvinator had this color as they made the 40" electric ranges for Whirlpool and Kenmore at that time, who had this color along with Edged Sapphire or Slate.

It's on that note that I wonder if my grandma's old Kelvinators were available in that as well as the Sapphire Blue (& stuff that was non-Roper/Whirlpool-built, just to match the cooking appliances that they did make)...

She had a fridge & stove from that era, which I can picture that myriad assortment of colors in... (If only she'd needed a new washer & dryer and even had a dishwasher, and if while she was content w/ white in the laundry room, that she did the kitchen, not in her avocado, but BLUE!)

That fridge, while it looks the same as one I'd seen the exact same outside of, of one I had seen at a used appliance store, the inside sure changed from that one which resembled the inside of my folks' old Bradford, that Philco, Admiral, Tappan, etc. that design was exposed (imposed?) upon...

Ditto for the range, I guess... (The neighbors across the street had a similar-designed Tappan!)
