Hi Guys

I have some old Lenor Fabric Conditioner and would like to know the date of production if anyone could tell me.

It's half empty and smells a bit odd but I guess it's because it's "Off" so to speak.

Thanks guys!

Thanks Rob!

I knew you would know. I have no clue about dates on detergents / softeners.

Cheers

Yea I would say late 70's early 80's too. I remember my Gran having that style bottle when I was little ( er )....she used Drive powder and lenor.

My Mum used "soft rinse" from Boots.

......and in those days, I think that was the biggest size you could buy, it came in one varient along with Comfort and Softlan!!! All in blue bottles and all blue in colour. Who needs more choices!!!!

Thanks Paul!

I vagely remember Drive powder. Think my gran used it but she mainly used Fairy Snow.

My mum didn't use fabric softner and still doesn't. She just buys whatever powder is on offer at Asda at the time. Could be anything she buys. Evertime I visit she always has something different.

You can have a sniff of the Lenor tomorrow when you visit!

I don't know if I want to sniff.....lol.....I am looking forward to tomorrow though. It's the 1st time I have ever actually met someone who loves washing machines and laundry in person...!!!

My Mum was a tester for Lever bros, we lived about a mile away from the Portsunlight factory, so we were never sure what powder we were using, Mum only used softener on jumpers, and woe betide ( ? ) you if you tried so sneak softener into any other load!!!

As a tester she also used to recieve free samples of any other Unilever product. I remember we got bottles of cold water Wisk to try, it was a cloudy blue colour....not like the Wisk we had here in the 80's ( still my fave detergent smell, pity it was s**t at removing any kind of dirty! ). From what I remember the cold water Wisk did an ok job but Mum hated putting her hands in a tub full of cold water in the Hotpoint Sumermatic.

Hey Paul

Wow a tester for lever brothers! That must have been interesting not knowing was going to be "tried" next..what fun!

Im looking forward to tomorrow also. Should be fun.

Tea and home made treats are on the menu for you.

And of course you get to have a play.

Hoovermatic. It's funny you mention that as I was only saying to my partner yesterday that I think there are far too many different varitions of powders liquids etc. What happened like you say to the one variant!

Lol @ Mark

Am a Trisha fan too..........Jeremy is the Devils hand maiden as far as I am concerned!!!! So. you have santas and the like lighting up your front lawn at christmas??? Is Armadale the same as Niddrie then......lol.....*ducks and runs.....fassssst*

Mike

We lived in bebington, my Dad worked at Lever Bros for a short time when I was a baby in the "Omo" section but had to leave because he was majorly allergic to the chemicals used.

Mum was a home tester from 1968 until 1983 when we moved to Scotland. Every few weeks we would get boxes of washing powder, plain white with codes on each box. Lever Bros would also send sample tea towels and pillow cases which had to be used, laundered and sent back for analysis stating which powder they had been washed in. We also used to recieve free boxes of square deal Surf, Jif and samples of any other new products. When we moved to scotland it was the first time Mum had had to buy detergent and cleaning products for 15 years....that came as a bit of a shock to her!!

I have emailed Lever Bros and P&G to see if I could become a tester.....Levers declined politely and P&G said they don't use home testers.....Oh well.

Next time I am down on the Wirral I'll pop in and see you Mike......I am dying for a go with your Electrolux 170.....lol

Hi Mike

Thanks for the date. You are correct in that it smells "sour". I couldn't quite put my finger on what it smelt like but "sour" is the word. It's not unpleasant but a bit odd.
