Proper Way To Install A MT Washers Lid Hinge Balls
Use a little liquid soap on the balls. hold the lid completely vertical with one ball in place [ right or left it does not matter ], put the other ball in the recess of the washers top and simply push the top of the lid down onto the ball, if you do it with the lid at an angle you may chip the porcelain top or lid.
You should not use something like a petroleum lubricant like Vaseline as it may make the plastic ball deteriorate faster.
