Hoping some of you folks who have vintage stoves can help me here.

I have a 1949 GE liberator. Anyway it has a 1-hour timer that works but is too noisy, so... I picked up this vintage Tappan timer that was very close but alot better timer, so I hooked it up. Anyway it goes too fast. It is 115v, so what could the problem be?

This was in a box of vintage stove stuff from a long gone repairman. I am beginning to think this is a defective timer the guy kept. But before I pitch it I wanted to get some feedback. Thanks.

BTW if anyone wants the guts of a early - mid 50s Westinghouse fridge and freezer, new in box, let me know. They stand 5 ft tall, though.

(craigslist had listed a stash of vintage Westinghouse appliance parts, so I went and got them. Lots of stove parts, and only one Laundromat part, the needle bearing, so it was worth it, but I have lots of stove parts to get rid of)

Is it possible that you have a 50Hz (Cycle) timer? The speed of the motor is not related to voltage, but it is usually synchronized to the power line frequency.

If it runs through an hour on the dial in 50 minutes of real time, then it's set up for 50Hz power line frequency.
