While recently surfing late one evening with the remote, I came across a vintage "Password" show on the Game Show Network. It was in black & white and appeared to be a very early show, with Ludden explaining how everything worked as the show progressed. Not like the regular running through the rules thing as on any game show, but more like an orientation for the viewing audience as well. Guest stars were the ubiquitous Betsy Palmer, and Dick Van Dyke.

One thing I noticed is that after the first round, the contestants switched sides as usual, and then there was a commercial break before they began round 2. When the show resumed after the break, the contestants were back with their original partners without any explanation for why. Weird.

I've never paid much attention to the GSN but might take in some more "Password" since the whole routine came back as clear to me as if the show had just gone off the air yesterday.

I might have to check GSN for other 60's game shows now, but it seems GSN runs an awful lot of commercials, so I may not last long.

Not only were the fasions and "hairdon'ts"fun to watch but the prizes given out were great!I remember a lady winning a brand new Speed Queen washer and dryer on queen for a day.She had 8 children and her husband had been permanently ingered at work.
I remember watching the night time Price is Right and the contestant, trisha Garcia winning not only a brand spanking new FRIGIDAIRE Custom Imperial kitchen in Poppy red but also a new Chevrolet Camaro in the same color! That was one I recorded on audio tape and came on after the recorded full cycle of a FRIGIDAIRE comercial Jet Action coin op washer and the "Vitameatavegamin" "I Love Lucy" episode. So,i'd rewind and listen to all the excitement.Sorry guys,my shifter took a shift!LOL!

Ralph LaCock.

One of my best friends in school was named Peter Cockshutte.

The horror. The horror. LOL

Lawrence.....

OMG...WOW.....good thing he changed it then.....

it's just hard to call someone PETER or DICK and hold a straight face sometimes

there's a guy around here who has a truck and on the windshield he has his wifes name and his...together

DICK & DONNA......and he's a washer repair guy.....think about hearing THAT when he answers the phone...

> Jeff, did you just pay me a compliment? I'm not sure . . .

And here I thought a kid in my class named Tim Burr had it bad. <

It's a good thing we grew up in L.A. Pete was a bit of a flamer, which didn't help the situation.

Names can be deceiving. In the summer of 1980 a director friend said he wanted to introduce me to someone who had just graduated school, and was out from back East to look for his first acting job in Hollywood. When he told me his name, I refused to meet him because I was convinced he was a porn star. I mean would any legitimate aspiring actor name himself Tom "Cruise"? That's one friend I should have kept in touch with. LOL

My Mother the Car

This is sick, but I remember the theme song.

Everybody knows in the second life we always come back sooner or later
As anything from a pussy cat to a man eating aligator.
Well you all may think my story's more fiction than it's fact
But belive it or not, my mother dear decided she'd come back, as a car.
She my very own guiding star
A 1928 Porter
That's my Mother dear
She helps me thru everything I do, and I'm so glad she's here
My Mother the car, My Mother the car.

I'll bet nobody else here memorised that little diddy!!!It saved my but one year in high school.I was daydreaming and writing it down on paper to give to a classmate and make her laugh.Ms Swol(our 3.5 ft tall English teacher who's name we always spelled backwords on our homeroom chalkboard)made me read it to the class who all aplauded and, instead of a demerit,I got a bonus 500 points and brought my "D" up to a "B".
