Chambers ovens--
Are wonderful. They are hyperinsulated, and the concept goes that you preheat to your desired temperature, open the oven quickly, put in the food, close it, and then turn off the gas.
I think more people would broil with the countertop level broiler.
Maytag made a similar range too, called the "Maytag Dutch Oven." Less elaborate, and without the countertop broiler.
I'm really surprised that they haven't come back into production.
For a while, when KitchenAid started making cooking appliances, they had the Chambers patents, and made Chambers gas cooktops with the "Daisy" pattern burners.
My friend Marc has a Chambers range, and I am tempted to marry him for it. I haven't, (and probably won't,) because he doesn't believe in dishwashers.
He claims he doesn't want to mess up the look of his semi-vintage kitchen. I've shown him paneled dishwashers, and the KitchenAid briva sink/dishwasher, but he hasn't bit, so far.
