'55 was the first year of the bottom mount, '56 was basically the same except it had the magnetic catches, not mechanical. Here's an ad for the 1956 model. lawrence

It doesn't even appear to have the pull-out freezer baskets. It does have a butter conditioner, though. I wish my '57 had one.
