I've had this Speed Queen Washer tub for quite a few years. A friend back in Minnesota had given it to me. It was originally white, but the paint was barely left on it, mostly just bare metal. It also had a few dents in it. Well this friend of mine here in Arizona paints cars and airplanes for a living and has already painted my 49 hotpoint fridge and my Youngstown kitchen hood. Well I got him to paint this for me as well. Here is what it looks like now. Unfortuneatly I don't beleive I got a picture of it before it got painted. He did a great job, and even got the dents out of it. He also put new wheels on it so now it will actually roll.

Since our main use for it will be to use it as a beer/soda cooler when we have parties, the painter friend ended up using that spray in bed liner they use for pickup trucks on the inside of it and mixed it with the paint. That way the ice, bottles, and cans won't scratch up the inside.

The only thing I would like to do, and might do down the road, is the Speed Queen insignia, I would like to have that painted black. That way it would stick out more. Otherwise I am really pleased with how it turned out. Eventually when I get enough money I'm going to have this painter friend paint my 1969 Ford F-100. Its currently turquoise and white, but I'm going to have him paint it turquoise and pink. :)

Nice job,  the folks have an old single tub similar to yours it is stamped "Ideal" in the tin.  I wonder if Speed Queen gave the tubs away with a washer purchase during some sale campaign's.  Your buddy Can paint.  alr

I love the tub but I really love that truck that is one hell of a truck. We had one of those when I was a kid but a drunk driver hit it and we went rolling down a hill  in Covington Tn around this time of year. The reason that I mention that is because 3 people got out of that truck and lived to tell the story with out a scratch they are like tanks I love them better than the crap built today. Enjoy Carl
