Im looking for a late 50s early 60s Westinghouse stereo console, the one im looking for has a sliding panel on the front behind which are the controls, big round radio dial and tuning eye, one just like what im hunting can be seen on one of the Lucy Desi Westinghouse commercials...Keep an eye out for me guys, thanks.

You can see one

On one of the Lucy Desi Westinghouse commercials, Betty Furness called them Stereo Fidelity Consoles.I saw one recently on Philadelphias Craigslist, but it was gone before I could reply to it, it was mahogany, just beautiful, it had 6v6 output tubes in it.

Hans, too bad she brisked by that so quickly - no close ups and she had to get her big as* in front of it(heehee),but this is what you're talking about , correct?

Be sure to look at my Westinghouse Finds - CL posting for a blonde Westinghouse Record Player - it's not what you're looking for , but it's a sweet looking unit.[this post was last edited: 2/9/2016-16:25]

neat looking blonde Westinghouse console...

funny how the cartoon in the promotional poster in the background makes Desi look virtually black! That sure wouldn't pass muster these days!!

6V6GT tubes in single ended mode are good for 5 watts continuous, in PP about 10-14w,
depending on output transformers and how much voltage on the plate. They are a rugged and popular tube type, often used in guitar amps.

My Phonola

Has 6BQ5s in it, it has reverb which I love, im not into very high end stereo equipment, mainly because I don't really like the look of most of the cabinets, I have seen Fishers at thrift stores, but they are kind of plain looking, and to my ear don't sound any better than a Magnavox or Motorola, I have a 1964 Singer made by KLH with a Lafayette tuner which to me, sounds great for a component set, but I love consoles best.
