Vintage TAPPAN avocado green working dishwasher $40 (Troy, AL)

Redoing kitchen so got a new dishwasher. Hate to get rid of it but it doesn’t match anymore. It is in perfectly working order, in fact I washed dishes the day before I got my new one. Need to be able to pick up. Need to get rid of asap so price is very negotiable

For a while in the early 70’s Whirlpool made Tappan dishwashers. It lasted a few years until D&M picked up the contract.

Nice looking machine! Hope someone can rescue it.

That's a Whirlpool-made machine with the door latch that caught pants pockets. Best performing Tappan ever. I don't know about the Tappan, but the WP machines had interchangeable front panels that could be changed by unscrewing the side metallic strip and pulling the panels out, choosing your color and sliding them back in. I think they were white/black & harvest/avocado.

Yep, WP. We installed them in our custom homes. Good dishwasher. Later Tappan switched to DM and we switched to GE instead of Tappan appliances.

Mid 70s Whirlpool built dishwasher

This dishwasher use the whirlpool filter stream washing system, whirlpool didn’t come out with Durawash till 1990 for their basic plastic tab machines.

This whirlpool dishwasher design was a top performing very reliable and easy to repair machine.
