Hi Guys.

Does anyone remember Radient washing powder, sure it was called that. I remember a friend of my Mums using it as the fragrence was quite strong.

Also, Fairy twin tub powder with built in fabric softner and Persil twin tub powder. My Mum use to use Persil twin tub powder and can rememebr it would turn the water milky.

Radiant...

....was always included 'free' with those aluminium tubs that you could buy from club books (Kays, Grattan, Freemans etc) in the 1970's.

Drive was a fave of mine in fact, I can still smell it now if I close my eyes and concentrate! My Mum used it on our school football kit and I always remember the smell on sports day. Forgotten the smell of Omo but remember blue and white Tide vividly. Also, Co-op Blue! Now there was a sudsy detergent with a memorable smell on washday!

From what I see of the packaging design, Radion in the UK was known as Surf in the US. It was manufactured by Lever Brothers and made it's initial debut in either late '85 or '86.

All I can say about the scent...OVERPOWERING! I knew quite a few people back then who really liked it, but after one box, I think I went back to Tide or Cheer or something of that nature.

Radiant

There was a photograph of Jon Pertwee as Doctor Who, in the early Seventies, reading the "Radio Times" with assorted monsters looking over his shoulder.

The back cover shows an advert for Radiant soap powder, with a swirly spiral-type pattern.

Hi Guys.

I remember Radion, think it had an orange box. As for Radiant, I do rememebr my Mums friend using it. Also, Surf automatic came in 2 different types, Surf white & Surf blue, and had quite a sweet fragrance.
