I watched the show today today, Phil. There is a retro new fridge to the left of Rachael's Chambers stove. I thought appnut was refering to what is being sold and maybe there was a fridge there. I would be scared to death using a broiler on one of those for fear I would set something on fire.

My Granny had that exact Caloric stainless cooktop. Same one on the Dick Van Dyke show. Some incredible meals were made on those burners..

You don't see a ton of these "modern" Chambers stoves for sale, certainly not like the older "Rachel Ray" model. The aluminum-top, heat-minder burner looks out of place. Has a $205 BIN price which is reasonable. In New Jersey. Sorry, I can't cut & paste the link and it's too long to copy. Collectibles/Kitchen & Home/Large Appliances.

That "Whirlpool" 40-incher is another WCI contract range.

Let's see - That frame has been used for ranges sold as:

- Kelvinator
- GE
- Hotpoint
- Frigidaire
- Whirlpool
- Kenmore

That's so far.

Joe, that Coppertone Chambers...

is commonly known as Model "D", more correctly Model MR-9-H. It was a Model "C" dressed up in more contemporary drag, as under the trim and revised backsplash it had the same griddle/broiler, deep well, super-insulation, cast iron door seal and iron oven bottom plate construction, features, and quality as the older models that established the Chambers reputation, plus the improved "Plane-of-Flame" dual orifice row burners and electric clock/timer. IMO their range best model - we had a white one. The "D" was introduced under new management, Rangeaire Corp., after Chambers was sold, in order to better compete with more modern looking mass-market appliances from GE, Frigidaire etc. This Coppertone unit was probably circa early '60s.
