Help Support :

Since I didn't have the right shoes and apron at the time, I got nothing...cleaned up the outside and took the back off to vacuum the dust out of it...tomorrow Ill take the motor out to get rebuilt..it comes out from the bottom so I have to tip it over... and start checking hoses and wiring...the boot is half-missing...then Ill push it in the basement(I put wheels on it) and take pics with my 1960 dryer

The Laundromat looks very similar to your dryer.  Close enough for 2016.  Westinghouse's are so scarce. A

Last of the Slant front Westinghouse front loaders

Wow Jerry where did you find that one?

These 59 through 63 models were the best performing Westinghouse Slant Front laundromats ever.

Your machine is the same as my 1959. L1000, I have just about any mechanical part you will need for this machine I even have good door boots. Modern parts in Ohio even has brand-new in the box general electric motors for this machine, I bought one for the L 1000.

I would love to see some close-up detail photographs of that dispenser on the top.

That machine is quite a Christmas present look forward to talking to you about it.

Thanks, John..

I got it from Greg (Glomain) in the club about 2 hours away in Ohio. Today Ill take the motor out to send it for rebuilding from the same place that did my dryer motor. I didn't plug it in to see what happens and check the belts and hoses and continue cleaning the inside. I took some pics of the bleach dispenser for you. Im still looking for a timer motor for my dryer, so Ill let you know what I need for this one...thanks

Jerry,

I was wondering if you would be interested in saving the Laundromat in Irwin that runs on a dime. I would be willing to pick it up in my truck and even keep it but I need some help getting it in there (tried to send PM but for some reason I cannot).

Jerry, when you moved this Laundromat.  May I ask, what is the best way to use an appliance dolly?  Dolly behind the machine or the side?  I think I have sold and will be moving the old set we found in Arkansas a couple of years ago.  They set I have has an awkward off center weight.  Very similar to the discussion in the "Getting rid of a huge TV"  thread we had.  Mine has the early angled tub, I am guessing your new one has the later design.  Surprisingly the dryer is almost as heavy as the washer,  the weight seems to be more in the base on the dryer and easier to move.   Thanks Arthur

No matter which way you use the dolly...the door and slant front design make it hard for the strap to get a tight grip....you have to wing it...the 59 and up tub weight is a donut around the front of the tub that makes it front heavy. The earlier ones have the tub weights on top of the tub and they are more easily removable. Loading and unloading is easier as the workbench left with the house I took apart had 2 very long and thick boards that fit perfect on the bumper of my Traverse that make a ramp to slide it on and off..before I unloaded it I replaced the legs with wheels to move it around...according to the brochure..it weighs 305lbs..though it seens like much more!
