WagnerWare -- Or Is It?

Can anyone identify this item that appears to be WagnerWare?  My sister pulled it from her neighborhood association's rummage sale donations and gave it to me.  The handle is different from my other pieces, but as you can see in the pictures, there's a "W" on the rim but no markings on the bottom as is typical of larger items.  It holds about 2 cups.  I'm thinking it's not supposed to have a lid.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Not Wagner; Wilton

I took a closer look with a magnifying glass at the markings on the outside rim and saw that it's not just a "W" but is actually "<span style="font-size: 10pt;">R</span><span style="font-size: 14pt;">W</span><span style="font-size: 10pt;">P,</span>"  I added "RWP" to my search and an eBay listing for "Vintage Wilton Armetale RWP" gravy/sauce pan came right up (link below).

 

The ad says it's pewter, but it's actually aluminum alloy, AKA "Armetale."  I haven't been able to determine its vintage but will continue to research.  These aren't worth much, at least when compared to WW Magnalite.  So far I've seen prices ranging from $9 to $25.

 

If anyone has anything to share about Wilton, please do.

Ralph we had a serving dish made of Armetale that I foolishly put in the dishwasher, back when I still used the DW and it turned it black. We were never able to get the black off and ended up throwing it away. So, whatever you do, don’t put it in the DW.

Your pot looks like it may be a serving table warming pot for sauces that was kept on a stand with either a candle or sterno to keep the sauce warm for serving.

Thanks Eddie.  I hand wash my Wagner Ware Magnalite pieces so will treat this Wilton item the same way.

 

It's a nice size that I currently don't have in my assorted pots and pans, and I like the spout.  I don't think is has seen much use and it has more of a sheen than Wagner Ware ever did.  Supposedly the alloy can withstand temps up to 1,000 F.  I'm certain the coated handle cannot.

Is still out there, sold by Amazon, Wayfair, Neiman Marcus, Macy's and many others.

Last generation of of Wilton brothers sold the business back in 2010.

With each sale WA seems to go down a notch in terms of exclusivity. Lifetime Brands sells or sold WA on QVC of all places. Bed, Bath and Beyond is (or was) another retailer.
