I recently purchased a beautiful, near perfect cosmetic condition, Mixmaster model 12 online. Of course it wasn't packaged very well and the large Glasbake bowl was shattered & the bakelite handle was broken off. The seller was very good and made it right so I went ahead and disassembled, cleaned, replaced the grease & replace the power cord. It runs great but now I'm looking for a few parts to make it perfect. If anybody has any of the following that are willing to part with, let me know.

Black bakelite handle.

Beater with the plastic tip. My mixer came with two beaters but the one with the plastic tip will not lock into the mixer. After closer inspection, I see that it's missing the tiny c-clip that should be in the grove.

Resistor. The resistor is working but the ceramic coating is flaking off and there is some exposed wire so I'd like to find a backup.

I have a set of stainless Oster bowls that will work for now so the white Glasbake bowl isn't a priority for now. I'm hoping to find one at a local thrift so it doesn't have to be shipped.

I may also be interested in attachments such as juicer, milkshake, churn.

Melissa, if you are not able to find the parts you need locally or on eBay, I have a spare model 12 handle and the beater you need. However I am in Canada, so the cost of shipping it to you would be higher than within the USA. I have LOTS of Sunbeam bowl sets, too, but the original white ones that would go with a model 12 are not hard to find. Keep checking your local thrift stores - they frequently turn up there!

I don't know if he's still selling parts, but a very knowledgeable person by the name of Dave Harnish (Dave's Repair Service) was rebuilding or making new versions of the ceramic resistors for Mixmasters. Try reaching out to him - he may have something!

Turquoisedude, Thanks for the reply. I haven't had any luck finding a replacement for the handle. Let me know how much you want for the handle and beater with the plastic tip. Shipping would be to Knoxville, TN 37918. Thanks!

My suggestion

Set yourself up an account on shopgoodwill.com and create a search. I find a lot of treasurers here and I have seen many Model 12 Mixmasters go for cheap with the beaters bowls and what you could use as a donor handle I bet.

I know there was just one not long ago. The white ones usually go really cheap. Even if one is beat up you'll likely still get a good bowl, beater and maybe even a good handle.

Actually...shopgoodwill.com is where I bought this one. I've found a lot of treasures there too. Unfortunately, packing large, heavy or awkward items isn't their strong suit. I've received several packages from various goodwill.com stores with little or no packing material in an oversized box. Here is a picture showing how the mixer was packed. The only other packing in the box were 4 sheets of loosely crumpled paper on top of the mixer. Needless to say, I'm a little leery of having another one shipped.

Since I have a set of stainless bowl that will work for now, I'm going to hold off on buying to Glasbake bowls until I can find some locally.

Sorry to see that.

So sorry to see that. I guess since the items come from many locations it's clear that one doesn't have much experience in packing them. What a shame. I've been lucky so far.

I remember years ago I bought a pristine older mixmaster off of eBay. It had the jadeite bowls and juicer. Even had the book. That's how the seller packed it. I remember when the box was delivered, I picked it up and heard the glass inside and I knew what I was going to find when I opened it. Everything was broken. I've since found white bowls for it but its not the same.
