I just purchased but have not yet received a speed queen front load washer. After calling many local dealers, I was informed that the remaining stock of front load washers had to be ordered in pairs with the dryer. I told the salesman I don't need a dryer, and he called his distributor and informed me that he could bring in a model from last year from out of town and sell me just the washer. The item he showed me a picture of is the front loader with the gray electronic control panel. My receipt says model "AFNE9B" and the description line says "Speed Queen 2015 3.42 CuFT Front Washer." The salesman informed me that the washer had a 3 year warranty. I replied that I thought the Speed Queen Front Loaders with electronic controls had 5 year a warranty. The salesman replied that only the 2018 models do, which I don't believe because I've been following the Speed Queen website for several years and have seen 5 years advertised for an electronic control machine. I downloaded the warranty card from the Speed Queen website for the "AFNE9B" machine and it states 5 years. The salesman also told me not to fill out the warranty registration card so speed queen doesn't know the date I purchased the washer. Can anyone make sense of this situation? I'm tempted to call Speed Queen directly, but I don't want to cause any problems with the dealer because he said that he might be able to do a warranty claim after the 3 years are up if I don't register the machine. I'm concerned that if this machine was really built in 2015 rather that 2017 and I don't register the machine with Speed Queen, that the manufacturer may deny a warranty claim based on the serial number production date, which could shorten my warranty period if it has been sitting in a warehouse for a year or two. Any advice?
