Yup - for mixing oil and gasoline in the Maytag Multi-Motor gas engines. Just like a lawn mower, etc. the fuel and oil are mixed together before adding to the tank.
I spent many years teaching school in northern New England. One of the houses I boarded in did not have electricity but they DID have a gasolene powered Maytag washerand that can was what the lady of the house used to pour in the fuel supply to the machine. She stuck the exhaust out the window and that's how the wash was done!!
