Thought I'd pop this from the Electricity Council on here as was in a pile of stuff that my parents have made me take away with me. Forgot I had them. Some interesting washing machines particularly the electronic Creda washing machine on page 6. Anyone out there got one?

Cheers
Stephen

page 5 Does anyone know if the Bendix is a washer dryer and if so what the number is? One of my neighbours had one of these and it had a vent hose for the drying which I thought was unusual!

WHOA!

Hi Stephen.

First off - a FANTASTIC brochure you have got there, with some absolute classics contained within. Many many thanks for posting.

Second thing - and me being very cheeky here, but is it possible to reload the pages bigger, so they fill the width of the screen?
As I mention above , there are some absoluete gems of machines contained within your brochure and it would be excellent to be able to see them in greater detail.

You mention the Creda on page 6 - that is the model 12000 Microelectronic 1000 - a VERY rare machine which people hardly ever saw when they were new and no one has seen for donkeys years. I only ever saw one of these machines and that was when I was about 5 or six years old.

The Servis machines contained in this brochure MIGHT be the holy grail series of final slimlines, of which no one has any official images and the Creda machines are in exactly the same boat!

I have never resized manually any photo I have ever posted to Discuss o Mat, as I have found that the site autoshrinks to an acceptable size to fit the screen. Have never tried to upload billboard size mind you - I think that might cause a wobbler to be thrown:-)
Thing is that your brochure deserves HUGE!

Please consider reposting in a bigger size, so as to be able to clearly make out the manufacturer name underneath each photo of the machine - that should be an indicator as to when an acceptable size has been reached.
If I sound like I am having a go, believe me I am not - its just that you have an absolute classic brochure containing many rather obscure models that many, myself included, either have never seen before or not seen in detail for decades.
You could potentially solve many a mystery with your brochure and I have everything crossed that you are able to repost them.

Reuploading the photos or not, many thanks for posting the pages - classic machines, sold through the branches of one of my favourite shops - the old Electricity Board Shop!

Paul
p.s NORWEB in my case:-)

Yep...

you've got the Holy Grail final slimline Servis series in there Stephen!

Possibly the only photo out there of what might be the Mk318 and Mk321 washers and I havent the foggiest idea as to what the slimline dryer is in there!

This brochure needs posting HUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, if possible :-)
Paul

Oh

Great brochure there Steve, yes if you could scan to full size there would be a lot of sleepless nights, Paul tried to magnify the page, the controls look switches not buttons I think...

This was the era of the "Best of British" and the Electricity Boards had the Creme de la Creme.....anybody want to pop down and pay their leccy bill for a look and demo?

Hi Mike and Paul

I'll see what I can do. I also have a couple of Servis brochures too so I will scan those and stick them up as a separate post. Its a shame I hole punched them but I was very young at the time and I guess I didn't know better!!

Cheers
Stephen

SERVIS BROCHURES!!!!!!

Oh my GOD!

Hi Stephen
Calming down slightly - lol - that would be absolutely great. Finding official brochures from the electricity board is exteremely difficult and its irritating, because they had their own Electra brand found nowhere else, or commissioned their own exclusives, from the likes of Hoover, that were advertised no where else.
They sold some rare stuff.

As for Servis....
Servis brochures aren't exactly common either, especially when compared to Hotpoint or Hoover (particularly the latter). Their early to mid 80s ranges tended to be a handful of machines and, speaking for me, I dont ever remember seeing Servis brochures for their slimline models - from my recollectios, they tended to hijack store brochures.
Very intrigued by your Servis brochures - I have a dream as to what the content will be, but wont say. You can probably guess though! :-)

Fingers crossed you fathom a way to make things BIG.

In the meantime, I have just sought permission to post a brochure and the owner has said 'YES!'.
Its an Electricity Board shop brochure, so eminently suitable for this thread and will partner your brochure (irrespective of size) perfectly.
Its from circa 1982, so covers the machines on sale a year or teo prior to yur brochure - I hope this wets your appetite!
Enjoy
Paul
