Hey there,

The original post for this was in the Super forum (?) and has been archived- I wasn't watching it in time to bump it up with everything that's been going on. Here's the original post:

Saturday, January 5th, Southborough Massachusetts. More info to follow, but for sure it'll be a good time! Plan on a Yankee Swap!! So far, we're looking at about a 2pm start time, pot-luck finger food, BYOB, some space available here for sleep-over (reserve early!)...  Who's in??

We heard from Ron (kenmore58- 1), Jason (maytag63- 2-3), Scott (super32- 2), and a suggestion from Tim (polkanut) that we have the adoption table again.

Anyone else up for it?

OK, Scott. What cha thinkin'? Tidbits and finger foods have been requested so there aren't bowls, carving stations, etc. needed. Plus, anything eaten off a toothpick doesn't have calories!

Of course Rich will have cider mulling, coffee perking, and we'll have a few bottles of wine here.

I'll probably make some biscotti- good for dipping in any of the above liquids! Haven't decided what else yet, though I'm leaning toward a gorgonzola spread for crackers or something like that...

Chuck,

Even though I'll only be with you all in spirit, your cheese fondue at the last holiday party was outstanding.  Food for thought. lol  Could you post the recipe please?  Knowing you, you probably don't have one!

Hey Tim,

Actually, Rich made the fondue, and, yes, there was no real recipe (good guess!). However, here's what it was:

Make a loose butter/flour roux in a heavy-bottomed pot. Add some chardonnay then milk until you have a soupy sauce that will thicken with the addition of cheese. Stir in grated gruyere and fontina with a dash of nutmeg. If you need to thin it, use a little more milk. Substitute the cheeses of your choice.

Hope that helps!!!

Chuck
