Washer motor

I have a 1998 GE Washer. The motor was working before, got hot and stopped. I took it apart and cleaned the contacts but now it hums. Is the capacitor inside the motor on this model? The motor is a GE model 5KH61KW2516GS. I had the motor apart and saw a small silver part and I am wondering if that is the cap.

that part is the thermal protector.IIRC,no capacitor is used on these GEs.If you locate a wiring diagram for the washer-don't remember if there is one in the machine,could do a couple ohm checks to see if all motor circuits are intact.
