Washer mystery manufacturer

My parents owned a JCPenny Washer/Dryer combo. They were "badged" JCPenny. They were mid-70s vintage as they recall. Any idea who actually built these machines for JCPenny?

I think GE built JCPenny washers and dryers well or at least the ones ive seen

The JCPenney ones are GE/Hotpoint. The earlier Penncrest ones are Hotpoint, the original Hotpoint design before it became a GE clone.
