There was an episode of the golden Girls too where there were supposed to be waiting for a dishwasher repairman, but there was no dishwasher to be seen in the kitchen! There was also another episode where Blanche walks into the kitchen after (off stage) doing some laundry, saying that they need more blee ashe, of course, meaning bleach!

Partridge Family

I don't remember a washer and dryer on that show, but I do know the kitchen appliances were Magic Chef..

Laundry Set on "Married With Children"

"jons1077"

Actually, I believe (and almost certain) that the 1972-73 Garage Door Keyboard Lady Kenmore Set that was seen on Married With Children was Avacodo, and not Coppertone.

But anyway, I find it unbelievable that an el-cheapo tightwad like Al Bundy could not afford to give his wife Peggy a state of the art kitchen, or afford a decent car for his family to get around in, but he can afford a Lady Kenmore Washer and Dryer set. After all, weren't those expensive back in the early/mid 1970's????

Looks like a first generation A806S.

I don't know the color prefix letter, but it looks to have a suds saver. Note the blue lower portion of the control panel and the chrome strip across the front.
Beautiful machine, all that turquoise and chrome, it just screams clean! How far off from a match was the turquoise cabinet from the turquoise agitator? Also, did this machine sudslock? I doubt it! I love that Maytag sprayrinse!

Hi Guys

Just thought of something after reading this post.

We get Home Improvement over this side of the water on our ABC channel. Im sure there have been 2 lots of washers and dryers. Both Frigidaire I think. One set were 1-18s im sure as the washer had a window in the middle of the lid.The other set I think were 1960s models.

I was watching a show once and after the knowledge I have aquired on here I remember saying to the screen...Those are 1-18s!

Home Improvement, and Brady Whirlpools

I believe that the first set on Home Improvement may have been an 80s White Westinghouse pair.

The Brady Whirlpools were either 1970 models, or perhaps 1969. The first time they were shown was during the first season. I cannot remember exactly when the episode aired, but it was the episode where the family thought Jan was allergic to Tiger, and everyone was bathing the poor dog to prevent her from sneezing. Both Mike and Alice (separately) bathed him in the laundry room with the Whirlpools in the background.

Have a good one,
James

Partridge Family was on the pilot show. Shirley Jones was doing laundry when Cassidy and kids needed more back up with their band. Somehow I just remembered it.

Uh, about Beverly Hillbillies....

Granny's Maytag dryer was GAS. The pilot access panel is clearly visible in long shots.

Godfather Memories and Six feet under!

If I remember correctly, in the last Godfather Movie, Al Pacino is in the Kitchen standing in front of a Kitchen Aid KDS14 Machine. It looked to be in perfect condition and was obviously placed in the correct time period of the movie!
In Six Feet Under, Mrs. Fisher had a KDS16 in Avocado Green in her Kitchen. Always looking out for those incredible KitchenAids!

Malcolm In The Middle

They had four sets during the show:

1. 80s Magic Chef set.

2. GE Filter Flo set (70s models I think)

3. Early 80s BD Whirlpool set

4. 200? DD Whirlpool set, or one of the other Whirlpool brands.

The DD Whirlpools were actually scripted as being replacements for the BD Whirlpools. I forget when the episode aired, but Lois (Jane Kaczmarak) was having trouble with the BD Whirlpool washer, but the family was short on funds for new machines. They got the money, and the next thing you knew the DDs stood where the BDs were.

Have a good one,

Bewitched laundry equipment

Two things happened between the sixth and seventh seasons of "Bewitched" that changed the laundry equipment--and for that matter, everything else in Darrin and Samantha's kitchen. First, a fire destroyed the "Bewitched" set--everything except for, oddly enough, Elizabeth Montgomery's dressing room. Second, Chevrolet ended its sponsorship of "Bewitched" after 1969...so they didn't replace the appliances with new Frigidaire products. I remember a 1971 episode where Samantha opens a broom closet and a skeleton pops out. The closet is on the edge of the laundry area, which is furnished with center-dial "new generation" Maytags...

In another 1971 episode, Larry Tate asks Samantha were Darrin is. Her response: "The pilot light is out in the stove. He went to fix it." Of course, regular "Bewitched" fans recall that Frigidaire did not start making gas ranges until after "Bewitched" went off the air!

P.S. On "The Beverly Hillbillies," the closing credits read in part, "Cabinets by I-XL; appliances furnished by the American Gas Association." That's why Granny's Maytag dryer was a gas dryer.

Also, "Love That Bob's" sister, Rosemary DeCamp, cooked in a kitchen that featured a Servel gas refrigerator (I recognized it from its distinctive door handles)...

~In Six Feet Under, Mrs. Fisher had a KDS16 in Avocado Green in her Kitchen. Always looking out for those incredible KitchenAids!

And then *POOF* it was a Caloric in avocado.
I dont' recall exactly what brand the avocado colored gas stove was, but I do recall that is it considered to be a major collectible now!

IIRC there were Maytag W&D both in the mortuary and in the residence.

Then there was the episode of I dream of Jeannie where Jeannie's evil cousin Jeannie puts Major Nelson on a spit of the rotisserie in the small eye-level upper oven of gas stove. Was it was turquoise? For effect the gas flames could be seen in a straight line (left-to-right) just about licking the human "roast".

Careful, has sound!

T.V washers

Mrs. Anderson (Father Knows Best) had a Westinghouse slant front and I think the set the Severs ( Growing Pains)had was a Hotpoint.
