Godfather Memories and Six feet under!

If I remember correctly, in the last Godfather Movie, Al Pacino is in the Kitchen standing in front of a Kitchen Aid KDS14 Machine. It looked to be in perfect condition and was obviously placed in the correct time period of the movie!
In Six Feet Under, Mrs. Fisher had a KDS16 in Avocado Green in her Kitchen. Always looking out for those incredible KitchenAids!

Malcolm In The Middle

They had four sets during the show:

1. 80s Magic Chef set.

2. GE Filter Flo set (70s models I think)

3. Early 80s BD Whirlpool set

4. 200? DD Whirlpool set, or one of the other Whirlpool brands.

The DD Whirlpools were actually scripted as being replacements for the BD Whirlpools. I forget when the episode aired, but Lois (Jane Kaczmarak) was having trouble with the BD Whirlpool washer, but the family was short on funds for new machines. They got the money, and the next thing you knew the DDs stood where the BDs were.

Have a good one,
James

Bewitched laundry equipment

Two things happened between the sixth and seventh seasons of "Bewitched" that changed the laundry equipment--and for that matter, everything else in Darrin and Samantha's kitchen. First, a fire destroyed the "Bewitched" set--everything except for, oddly enough, Elizabeth Montgomery's dressing room. Second, Chevrolet ended its sponsorship of "Bewitched" after 1969...so they didn't replace the appliances with new Frigidaire products. I remember a 1971 episode where Samantha opens a broom closet and a skeleton pops out. The closet is on the edge of the laundry area, which is furnished with center-dial "new generation" Maytags...

In another 1971 episode, Larry Tate asks Samantha were Darrin is. Her response: "The pilot light is out in the stove. He went to fix it." Of course, regular "Bewitched" fans recall that Frigidaire did not start making gas ranges until after "Bewitched" went off the air!

P.S. On "The Beverly Hillbillies," the closing credits read in part, "Cabinets by I-XL; appliances furnished by the American Gas Association." That's why Granny's Maytag dryer was a gas dryer.

Also, "Love That Bob's" sister, Rosemary DeCamp, cooked in a kitchen that featured a Servel gas refrigerator (I recognized it from its distinctive door handles)...

And then *POOF* it was a Caloric in avocado.
I dont' recall exactly what brand the avocado colored gas stove was, but I do recall that is it considered to be a major collectible now!

IIRC there were Maytag W&D both in the mortuary and in the residence.

Then there was the episode of I dream of Jeannie where Jeannie's evil cousin Jeannie puts Major Nelson on a spit of the rotisserie in the small eye-level upper oven of gas stove. Was it was turquoise? For effect the gas flames could be seen in a straight line (left-to-right) just about licking the human "roast".

Careful, has sound!

T.V washers

Mrs. Anderson (Father Knows Best) had a Westinghouse slant front and I think the set the Severs ( Growing Pains)had was a Hotpoint.

The only one I specifically remember is

Bob (and Emily) Newhart had an Amana 22 Side-by-Side refrigerator. You couldn't see much of the rest of the kitchen.

My parents' house still has the original 1962 i-XL cabinets, although my mother had them refinished, and had new door/drawer fronts installed. I couldn't stop her.

Bewitched and Leave It To Beaver

I remember a "Bewitched" episode in which Darren was promoting "Washington" washing machines. The drawings looked like they were copied from Speed Queen but I can't remember. When the later episodes get released on DVD I'll be looking for it. Also, I thought there was a washer episode on "Leave It To Beaver" but I can't remember what brand it was - something in white! - Mike

Laundry On Mama's Family......

"Harold":

I can't say for certain. But from sideway perspective off from a distance, they looked like early 1960's Kenmores. The washer in particular looked like the model that was a step down from the Lady Kenmore model of that year.

What washer did Aunt Bee use on the Andy Griffin Show? She kept it out on the back porch, don't recall seeing her ever using it though.

DUH there is the small eye-level oven right there near the top of this thread. Looks like a flair-type oven AND a cooktop, probably makes for better viewing of person cooking on camera.

<font color="#7F38EC">Those Kenmore look great! Wish I have a pair of them here with me.. I don't mind own a 700 or a 800 series Kenmore!
