I'll add to this as I find more ..first up

1) Stacked Washer and Dryer - $150 (Greene, IA) - http://masoncity.craigslist.org/app/4576223849.html
it really looks very clean and not used much

2) Newer Washer & Dryer Set (Fisher & Paykel) - $50 (La Crosse)- http://lacrosse.craigslist.org/app/4596066286.html
If anyone thinks these are worth the trouble to repair, not sure if they were free...whether it would help...but fifty bucks?

3) Here's the set I was trying to find in the Atlanta area, but I ended up with an older, less-featured set : Heavy duty Large Capacity Maytag washer and dryer: http://stcloud.craigslist.org/app/4556056534.html

4)Kenmore Elite Calypso Washer and matching Dryer - $200 (Waukesha) - maybe the drain pump line is just plugged up or something simple? :-) http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/app/4589303179.html

That Harvest Gold Set Was Mine!

Dryer is still totters on though is joined by a newer Oko-Lavatherm condenser. The washer sold off to a member in order to make room for the Oko-Lavamat.

These Harvest Gold units are fun, especially the washing machine. Mine was a convertible to stationary or portable unit and had all the cycles of a full sized unit. Watching that Surgilator in action alone provides hours of fun.

Note that the F&P topload dryer DE62T27G was assembled at F&P's Clyde, OH plant (which they had at that time).  The washer probably was as well.  Per the serial number, the dryer dates 2008 January.

Only the *frontload* dryers were sourced from GE.

The topload dryers (of which the ad item is one) were always manufactured by F&P, they have nothing to do with GE.  They were first produced in NZ (see the tag below from mine, 2004 July).  F&P brought washer/dryer and SmartDrive motor production to the facility in Clyde for a few years.  U.S. washer/dryer production was closed sometime in 2009 but motor production may continue (I don't know) to facilitate Whirlpool's use for the Cabrio & Bravos.

With the stacked set- Does the washer lid open far enough to load and unload for use or do you have to pull the machine out a little from where it's stored to use it?

The lid on the washer is a one piece lid that is hinged at the rear. I know that if it isn't blocked it will open to a vertical postion. It definitely doesn't look there's enough room sitting directly under that dryer to do that. But I could be wrong.
Maybe there's some type of magnet that's under the dryer that holds the lid open for you while using the washer since it won't open all the way. I don't know.

Whirpool Stacked Washer Dryer

If that set was closer to me, I would seriously consider purchasing. I am looking for a set like that and none ever seem to come up for sale in my vicinity.
Was the washer a two speed?

Was the washer a two speed?

Yes, washer offered two speeds for washing and spins.

Cycles are:

Regular/Heavy - High speed agitation and spin
Permanent Press (Cool Down Care) - High speed agitation and low spin speeds with cooling

Knits - Low agitation and spin speeds.

Gentle - Low agitation and spin speeds.

Difference between "Gentle" and "Knits" are the wash and spin times with Knits having a longer wash and spin.

Super Wash - High agitation for a period then machine soaks for about two minutes. partially drains, soaks, then refills and begins "Normal" wash cycle.

Again great machines for their size offering all the features of their larger siblings. Mine had the "waterfall" lint filter system but used the bed of nails instead of brush (thank God).

Harvest Gold Stacked Whirlpool Set

Hi,

I sent a message through Craigslist to the seller. Hopefully, he will consider selling the set to me. Of course, packing and shipping would be involved, but I am willing to pay. This is a great set, in good to excellent condition, and would suit my needs perfectly.

Wish me luck,
Richard
