Forgot to say earlier Welcome to the club!

Yeah, it's a direct drive. I was very naive back then and there was no AWO to set me straight. So when I was out buying my first set of appliances, I was still under the impression that they were basically still the same like Mom's.

When I bought my Kitchenaid dishwasher in '95, I thought I was buying a Hobart made machine. Little did I know.

Despite all that, they've turned out to be great machines and are still going strong today...

Hello her are a couple of things i dont like about this washer and any electroinic control paneled washers.
1. YOU CANT OVERRIDE THE WATER LEVEL LIKE MANUAL KNOB MACHINES [ and group can you raise the water level and how? on this machine.
2. DELAY START [ i dont know how to use it i tried and it just revert back or shuts of the control panel they dont have a manual ]
3.DISPENSERES [Thay sometime dilute the product right away like bleach &softner drives me nuts lol]
4 JUST WISHING [ Wish i could bump the RPM'S TO 1000 OR 1200 LOL]

Will Larry & Nelson tell me about what you think about your models and anyone else who uses eletronic model washers kenmo! style, All in all it's still a great machine p.s. I have to replace the agitator, the augur has a nasty sound when it rotates especialy in a low water wash this is nothing new with dual action agitators. I had to replace my grandmothers agitaor when the same thing happend. I replaced the dog legs in top of the agitaor they move the augur, .But a year later they same sound came back, and who am i kidding ill was looking to upgrade it anyway they newer augur the vanes curled down more it was suppose roll more clothes over and it did compared to older style augur . HMM,,, QAULITY HAVE LEFT THE WHIRLPOOL FACTORY maybe one day thell get it back. Darren k

Delay Start Option

Very simple to set.

(If you using Soak or Prewash, add detergent directly into the tub).
1. Load machine.
2. Choose cycle then add detergent and softener into dispensers.
3. Choose water temp and water level.
4. Choose rinse options (Warm rinse, Wrinkle Guard or Second Rinse).
5. Hit delay (default time is one hour).
6. Change default time if more time needed by hitting Time Remaining up for more hours or less if needed.
Close the lid then walk away..... Give it a try and let me know!

Just remember, do not hit start or you'll automatically start the wash cycle.

I have the same machine in almond use it almost daily, a real winner. As has beens said very flexible cycles, plus they are additive. I like being able to tell it to soak then go into what ever was cycle I want. I also find it interesting that the agitation in the soak cycle matches the speed of whatever cycle follows it, and that if the water level is set to low it automatically lowers the agitation speed.

If I recall I bought the set in '96, have developed a few somewhat minor issues, the stop button wont work, but I just added an X10 module and keep a controller handy if I ever need to truly stop the machine. The other issue I'll have to address sooner that later is the throughout arm, or what ever it's called is acting up. In the heavy duty cycle it's fine, but in the other cycles it doesn't shift out of gear and the tub spins as it drains. Over at one of the appliance forums, Samauri I believe they told me it was a fairly easy fix and outlined it, I seem to be waiting for total failure before I fix it. :-)

I also have the matching dryer too.

in addition...

aldspinboy, the water level is adjustable. There are 5 preset levels, you can always adjust the level up at any point in the cycle. If you want a level in between just set the machine to the next hight level and when it reaches the level you like, adjust it down - both sets of level lights will flash. Easily done, but I don't know why you want to, the five presets are all you need.

As to the dispensers diluting the product, why is that a problem? The bleach dispenser dilutes when it is adding in the product, not before - same with the fabric softener, kind of a non-issue to me.

AS to the Tub it is perforated all around with one ring of holes at the base of the agitator, it is original and I purchased it in 96. I'd guess the triple action of the agitator is due to the fact in addition to the normal function, it had the swirl around the center to help bring the clothes down and with very large loads the spring action raises the agitator and forces the top portion of the load down.

If anyone has any other questions on this machine I'll be glad to answer to the best of my knowlege....
