What type of pump is used in whirlpool/Kenmore belt, direct and VMW drive washers and how those pumps differ from each other?

very early BDs,(~before 1956?)had a turbine pump, then a cast aluminum centrifugal dual section pump was used-a small auxillary pump to provide lint filter circulation-the drain impeller having 4 curved blades.~1965,pump body changed to corrosion proof polypropylene plastic, drain impeller now 15 blades and pumps with and without aux.filter pump used. The BD pumps, except perhaps the earliest, have a built in valve operated by by the "wig wag"mechanism-diagram of a very early ~1943 patent drawing of a BD showed a solenoid actuated clutch on the pump.DDs have a turbine pump with rubber impeller directly mounted to the washer motor-no major changes to these pumps during DD production AFAIK.VMW uses permanent magnet, sealess,"magnetic"centrifugal pump of the type used by about every washer for the last 12-15 years-the pumps turn at 3600 rpm on 60 HZ power.

AFAIK this website was created for people who love washing machines and related topics so people can exchange information and knowledge or simply enjoy something they love in common.

"Try looking it up on the internet yourself" is certainly a kind of answer not welcome when someone posts a question about a washing machine part in a washing machine forum. Am I right?

I'm sure (at least I hope) the person didn't mean to be rude, but did it unintentionally. Who never made a mistake? So let's not be so strict. Maybe the person didn't mean to offend, even offending. Why don't we wait a little bit before we start acting like we never made a mistake in our lives?

I'll never forget once I posted something offensive here because of language issues. It took several replies until I understand the meaning of the "N-word" is completely different in English and Portuguese if one doesn't translate correctly. When I realized my mistake, I wanted to dig a hole on the ground and hide myself forever.

There are three little words that are very welcome when you offend someone unintentionally: "I am sorry". I would be glad to read it addressed to this thread author.
