Hi All!

I have currently a Miele W830 and T 430 vented tumble dryer which are getting a little worse for wear - washer is quite noisy ( outlet pump, while washing and spinning) and the dryer doesn't heat sometimes (mostly) , needs new rollers and bearings ( either drum or motor/both!) So i am starting to save for a new set!!

I am looking for a Washer and Heat pump dryer.
So far I like:
Aeg : L98690FL and the T96690IH - 9kg washer and matching heat pump, love this set but Electrolux have discontinued the dryer - i have no idea why !! so will have to wait and see what replaces it!

Siemens : The I-dos washer and matching heat pump - i have checked out the Bosch badged but I prefer the siemens styling and warranty !

Miele: I really like the W 5965 WPS + T 8929 WP - But would love the new W1 and T1 set - I love the new design and features - but they have not released them yet (in Aus) ............ - Does any one know when they will in Australia??

What does everyone think??

Any suggestions/comments greatly appreciated!!
 
The Siemens is great machine.
The Miele is great too. I'm surprised W1 hasn't launched yet though? Maybe they've had some problems that need ironing out.

Personally that amount of money, for a sealed tub unit from AEG I'd avoid. I have a sealed unit, but I didn't pay the earth for it (<£300), while I've not needed a replacement, when that fails, or something gets stuck, it'll be a pain to fix.
 
Yes I do really like the siemens - I haven't seen the Mieles in real life yet.

A question with the siemens - i have heard it only tumbles in one direction - is this true, if so is that a problem?

A staff member who works in the Auckland showroom made the comment. So that means it should arrive in Australia too before that. I see the FashionMaster has appeared on the Australian website. The price is actually not horrendous.
 
I hope so!!

I really hope soon - i am really leaning towards the Siemens and Miele - but would be over the moon with the new range!

richnz : i can't find the fashion master on their website - I would love to know the price ! - my steam iron has completely broke - Have been through 3 in the past 5 years - 1 philips, 2 tefal`s!!
 
I have the Miele W1 (WKH120 WPS) and T1 (TKG440 WP) here in Spain. I was very happy with my Miele washer and vented dryer at my apartment in England and I REALLY didn't want a condenser dryer when I moved here to Spain. Unfortunately my laundry room doesn't have a dryer vent here and I decided it would be easier to get a condenser. I tried them out at the Miele Experience Centre in England. They cost me twice as much as my set in England. They do work fine but I would still be more than happy to go back to my set in England, which are great too (W5780 and T8722).

If you like the look of the W1/T1 and are happy to pay for the additional features then go for them when they are launched in Australia. The heat pump dryer is a little slower than vented but I have been very surprised that it actually does dry things perfectly and is very accurate. It gives out far less heat to the room than a regular condenser. I was expecting to have to dry towels on "normal plus" or "extra dry" but I actually only dry them on "normal" and the results are excellent. However the dryer does ball bedding just like any dryer can do. I also had a Bosch vented in England and it did not do reverse tumble but amazingly didn't ball bedding any more often than my current Miele costing a small fortune. Yes it does use about half the energy of condenser or vented dryers, but it cost so much to buy. I would prefer a gas vented dryer, which are manufactured in the UK, but it was a non-starter where I live in Spain and Miele don't do gas.

I also tried out the Fashion Master in England. I think I remember that the iron can only but put down horizontally -- you cannot put it down vertically on the board as I would sometimes do with my current steam generator iron. So I wasn't sure if I was all that happy. Also my current steam generator and board cost a fraction of the Fashion Master. Again, go for the Fashion Master if you can afford it and love its coolness!

I might Pass on the iron for now - what "normal" steam generator/iron should I look at ?

Does any one know the main difference between the W1 & T1 and the new White doored version?

Do you really want to buy a brand new?
I keep spying on the Gumtree website and see so many bargains.

What tickles my fancy is the WS5073 washing machine or the Speed Queen LTSA7AWN Washer/Dryer stack.

I keep seeing some great bargains on the site.
 
I wouldn't mind used - I always keep my eyes open for a god bargain !! - i actually found the Aeg set i liked for $800, however they seller decided to give it to a friend...... :(
 
Siemens heat-pump dryer

We bought it when it was a novelty at the tradeshow but the BOSCH version.

Horrible thing, it was broken once because of too much animal hair (we own four cats) and now it has problems with heating up. Doesn't do reverse tumbling which is a shame because it "balls" bedding all the time. I wouldn't advice you one of these machines, they're not cleverly designed so far...
