Way back in model year 2004

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Ahh.. this brings back memories.. I had the WWRE model, the TOL model with mechanical controls. I don't think they sold the digital control panel versions in Canada, I never saw them...

When it wasn't ripping my sheets, it did a good job of washing clothes. I had no idea that this was one of the last washers GE made before they were mandated to make water levels considerably lower.

I have to admit, I really like the look of these machines. The chrome ringed mechanical knobs are a nice touch, as well as the Colour guide on the control panels, to ensure I picked the right settings for what I was going to use.

I used the handwash cycle a few times and the casuals cycle for more sensitive fabrics, it was the only four speed machine I ever owned. (Handwash, Delicate, Casual and normal)

I wish I had seen this brochure back in 2004.. I probably would have bought one of the electronic control panelled models.

These look cool

I love the way the dryer looks. Never EVER have I lived anywhere that had a GE washer or dryer (dishwasher, yes

This was the year I loved into my current home - Sept 15, 2004. It seems so long ago.

I like everything about the brochure's cover shot: Sharp-looking mixture of white and stainless steel in both washer and dryer; sleek electronic control panel; and to top it all off, stacks of white bath linens.

Interesting to see how electronic controls have evolved in style/design over the years.

Thanks for sharing that with us, Paul.

Demonstration Kit

Don't recall ever seeing a GE machine fitted with a Demo Kit clear lid in any showroom. Good thing I guess, I might have bought a pair.

Re: 2004 GE TOL Set...

IIRC, Good Housekeeping recommended these around April 2004...countertops look
like Quartz; interesting jars on the shelf which one could expect to be the laundry
chemicals.
