Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

It's funny that these couldn't "roll over a piece of toilet paper" but one ripped the arm off that little girl! Remember that news story a while back - she was playing in the machine and got her arm caught? Her parents were suing Electrolux/Frigidaire for building dangerous machines undoubtedly to assuage their guilt from neglecting their minor child around a potentially dangerous machine.

I had a WCI Kelvinator in the mid-80's with the angel-wing agitator and plastic indexing tub - it could have "made stew and never bruised a carrot."

I liked the older Gibson,Kelvinator,Hamilton models with the porcelain tubs and a filter pan on the agitators. The dryers were o.k.but made by Hamilton and in the late 60's/early 70's,they were not that great of a brand for anything.

I have a Frigidaire/ Electrolux TOL top loader that I don't think is that bad. You have to be sure not to overload it. The indexing tub idea is dumb, but it does a decent job of washing, and it's much gentler than the shredders by WP. I'd take the Frigidaire any day over a new WP TL. And you get a good spray rinse after the wash and rinse.
