For those on dial-up .... on long threads, heavy with pictures, set your browser options so it does NOT display images, but DOES display image placeholders. The text of the thread will load MUCH quicker, with "broken" placeholders where images would appear.

You can then right-click on the image placeholder and select Show Picture (IE) or View Image (Firefox) to see it. Click the Back button to view the thread again.

Thanks for that tip. I knew about turning off the images but I didn't know you could selectively look at one...
I'm still on dial up, we can't seem to get the DSL working after two visits from the phone company so I'm probably gonna get cable eventually. Actually if people just took the time to downsize their images to a postcard size it wouldn't be a problem
