For those who haven't heard the news yet, the VCCC and Vacuumland are separating and becoming completely separate entities. The VCCC will still be running in the same fashion, with great yearly conventions, newsletters, etc. As for Vacuumland, ownership has now been turned over to me and I plan on running Vacuumland exactly in the same fashion as I run aw.org with the same features and rules.

My desire is that I want to Vacuumland to be a safe and inclusive place for all people who like vacuums. I know in the past there has been some tension between a few of the vacuum collector groups. Now that Vacuumland is completely its own entity, independent of a specific club, I want it to be understood loud and clear that everyone, from any organization is completely welcome here. I hope members from the VCCC stay on and enjoy the new site. I hope members of the VCA and the many Facebook groups will come to the new Vacuumland as well. I also hope any members of aw.org who have any interest in vacuum cleaners will come over as well. I want this website to represent all vacuum collectors. I am going to strive for Vacuumland to be one great and centrally located site for the vacuum community. Please spread the word!

It's a complete redesigned website, please check out my new re-design...

Hmmmm... I am taking this as a sign. I have a few vintage vacuums buried under a pile of dishwashers in the loft and I was wondering where to find some advice on how to restore them. I guess this is my cue to join Vacuumland, folks!

Robert I am sure that the Vacuumland site will be as safe, fun and friendly as automaticwasher.org is. Thank you for all your efforts - they are very much appreciated!

Awesome, Robert. I've peeked at the site before but I will have to give it another look and try it out since I love how the AW site flows now. Thank you.

Thanks everyone, David the two sites are completely separate, each one has its own independent database and set of users, so you do need to register and upgrade if you wish on VL.

I'm giving 45 days of free upgrade time on Vacuumland to anyone who signs up within the next 7 days.

Thanks for the heads up Robert. While I am not really a "vacuum collector", I do have a couple of vintage vacuums. So I'll sign up, and check it out.

I hope this is a positive change...

I've ventured over there from time to time with vac questions, never found it to be a friendly place. Seemed like there was lots of feuds going on. Perhaps having a new marshal in town will clean things up. I'll check it out again at some point.

Great! I visited vacuumland a few times, but didn't notice feuds. I have a few vacuums and enjoy seeing the vintage vacs, and learning about the vacs that I have found...thanks Robert! Hope vacuumland grows up to your expectations.

Well perhaps the right word was not "feud" it seemed if I got a positive, or friendly response to a question a few posts down that answer would be ridiculed. My attitude became get in, get out before the flames started. At some point years ago I simply quit going to the site for anything, vac questions went to google or here. My sense of the site is that it was a closed shop.

Hoping that attitudes is long gone.

Love the design and looks like a wonderful site...

and will no doubt be very run now, as well. Being we have severe dust allergies also and must leave all household vacuuming duties to others, haven't perused it before, but can, and do, appreciate vintage machinery of all types. My artist cousin made a gorgeous Monoprint in beautiful pastel colors of a Hoover Constellation in his "Vintage Appliances" series years ago.
Best of Luck with the site!

Nice revamp!

I've visited the old VL website for solutions for our 2 Hoovers in the past, but this new design is fantastic. Any chance of a Radio or TV Land in the future? I have 2 vintage Motorola TVs and handful of vintage radios. :)

Hi Jason, I LOVE your profile picture lol, it's super creative, I love that!

Years ago I thought I should start a vintage TV website, we will see. I also thought a separate website for Ranges would be good to as I don't think there really is one. But I'm too tired right now to think about it. Running these sites is a lot of work.

Yay!

All that hard work is deeply appreciated every day, especially the wonderful custom software - it has sooo spoiled me and generic boards now seem utterly BOL! While I don't post much at VL I do check in there frequently; vacuums were my first appliance love when I was a very small child. Today I have a few Compacts (recently snagged a 3-wheel C-5!!) plus a couple of Kirbys. I'm delighted that VL is now firmly under Robert's control, who could ask for anything more.

Robert is so good of you to make a home for everyone. I wish you and Fred the best with your new task. To me AW.org has always been a little more freelance than the regiment over at vacuumland ( respectfully we are kind of ruff and tumble over here).I Know you will work your magic and most will be satisfied. All the best again thankyou for all the nice things you do. In light of this develpment, do you need some extra funding for the expense? Please do let us know. arthur

Thanks Robert. I used to post over there every now and then but found it was nothing but some of these most hateful folks I have

met.I just asked some advice and got belittled and sarcastic replies from them no help at all.I never understood what I did to

get that type of vitriol from just asking a question.I never went back over there after that because I know I would end up

going off on all of them.
