This site (AW) is fantastic. I joined after purchasing a vintage stove and dryer. I haven't joined vacuumland yet, but I do now own four vintage vacuums: 2 Hoovers and 2 Electroluxes.

If you decide you want to do a radio/TV site, there are quite a number of collectors out there. One site is linked here; I used it to figure out what my 1st TV was (1953 Motorola). Also, that said, I believe I have most, if not all of the TV schematics for 1950-1959 Motorola chassis'.

I have some materials as well that I purchased for our stove (Manual and some additional brochures). Can I scan these and add them to the library? Wasn't sure how that worked.

A Possible bug?

Hi Robert,

I was trying to access the forum archives via my iPad mini and it starts to load, but just before it finishes the browser (Safari) crashes (it goes back to the "desktop"). Obviously I can access the archives thru a regular computer, but for some reason not through my iPad.

I don't frequent it often, but I am very pleased to hear it will be very welcoming place for ALL vacuum collectors and ALL vacuum clubs!

Scanning Appliance Literature

Jason, if you are referring to the Automatic Ephemera library, Robert (Unimatic1140) does all of the scanning and posting of material.  You would need to send the hard copies to him for scanning, and he'll return them to you.

 

This presumes he doesn't already have the hard copies in his collection, so I suggest contacting Robert directly and advising him on what you have.

You're not alone in your observations about Vacuumland. For some odd reason that site seems to attract more than its share of mean spirited characters. With any luck Roberts direct involvement will set things right quickly and make it a more welcoming site than it's been for some. He's already been busy today deleting posts and in some cases entire threads where grossly inappropriate comments were recently left.
