And where are my Southern manners!!! Geoff thank you for the great pictures. Your work is truely to be commended, especially since this is your first. I've not seen a naked 'tag of this era b4. Bob

Bob ... I like that ... "snapping timer". It does sort of snap, doesn't it!!

I did a Robert "evening showers" on her tonight. I stripped down the top completely (lid off, control panel out) and gently scrubbed her with Bon Ami and a sponge. The top is in really great condition! The zinc coating Maytag used lived up to its promise.

I'm hoping to get the cabinet and lid painted next weekend. I can't wait! The laundry tub I want is in stock at the local plumbing supply and will pick it up on Monday. Should be lots of fun fixing up the laundry room! :-)

I really do want to get the agitator out; but will have to wait to see if hot water might loosen it. I would like to strip it completely down, scrub the tubs and replace the seals; but I might not be able to do that right now. We'll see.

Thanks for the encouragement!!

Geoff, yes it does. To me, that was the timer of the 1950s. Hotpoint dishwashers, frog-eyed Kenmores, Frigidaires, Kelvinators, .... givves me goose bumps just thinking about those.
