Weird Amana smooth top range - $25 Daytona

Haven't seen many of these, is this an actual Amana made range? It looks early 90s. I wonder if the top could be cleaned up nice? It looks to have a panel light at least.

I think that may be a Maytag-built Amana, the 90s would be about right for that.   

 

Those glass cooktops are a royal pain to keep clean - one in this condition may be darned near impossible to clean up again.

I used to have that range (I think it was a 1990-91 model if memory serves) in black and brushed aluminium finish. The glass top ALWAYS looked crap...no matter how often I cleaned it. Every scuff, nick and scratch just glared at ya. Wasn't the best cooker, nor the worst. When I found my 1988 Jenn Air range, the Amana went straight to the donation center.
