Weird repair Ways

Hey guys, I’ve got a question for you all want to comes to fixing a machine have you had to improvise to make sure that what you used to repair a machine of any age would work?As earlier today I had to fix a AskoWM33 as the original sump in between the wash out to drum and the pump (the hose) had a hole in it, so what I did was I cut it in half slept a bit of PVC pipe that went Inside the sump hose and then I clamped it onto the pipe using two zip ties , So the leak have been dealt with and now I’ve got a fully working washing machine, also BTW the Asko machine will only be used as a stopgap measure to repair my Hoover Electra 1000 F As the machine would be supporting a kitchen sink

Can you show a picture of your repair?

A repair or a bodge, it doesn't matter so long as it works.

I once bought a cheap Miele W828 (Loved that machine) and I did a bodge-job.
There is a plastic upright piece that stops backflow. That cracked so I used a soldering iron to melt together the plastic pieces.

There was no rubber hose to connect the pump to this back-flow piece so an improvised radiator hose.

It was not a glamorous fix, but it was enough to get the machine working again.
Once it was working, I could then focus on better repairs.

Were you repairing a rubber sump?
Red RTV gasket maker is excellent and it can withstand boiling temperatures too.

I fully commend anybody who can fix, and full marks for doing it on a budget of cents.
