Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Thanks for the momories!

Ed, that was our first dishwasher in like 1967! KDS-15 in edged coppertone but it was strictly a built in and not a convertible portable. You will need earplugs for that one! Only problem is only a few select parts are still available for it. Cant wait to see the next series of pictures!

That machine is what got me started!

This was always the KitchenAid of my Dreams.

Why are most of the machines I find Portables ??? Maybe because I can use them when I want. I have been using the Regency for the Daily Driver. and Love it. I can't wait to get this Baby back in action. I think I'll throw some Hot water in her for a few days. What do you guys think ?
The last one I'm looking for is a Top Loading KitchenAid Electra, Imperial, or Superba.

Hey Jed

I couldn't wait to start detailing. The guy who had this machine died. Heavy Smoker. This thing is covered with nicotine. But .......... she's starting to shine. More pics later tonight or tomorrow morning. Cocktail and Detailing time !!!! For some reason alot of KitchenAids are starting to pop up. I'll keep you in mind if I find one that's sweet and I don't want to be selfish about . LOL Eddie.
I think I'm beginning to run out of room.

Three times?? Yeah, Sure!

Look at the rinse and hold button..it is all worn out! That machine has seen some washes! And the wash arm support looks used as well. Be careful of rusting in the sump where the element ends come thru the tank..very weak link there. Saw many with rusting in that area. Also, the little tube for the air pressure switch that is part of the machine on the right side of the sump tended to get plugged up so you should check that out too. If you break the air switch hose, replace it with the same length to maintain proper overfill protection.

You will get alot of stuff in it and of course, the top is for the big stuff. 16,17 and 18 series racks will fit down there too and will give you some versatility! Check it out.
You will love the rapid advance timer.. really cool mechanism.
Utitlity and utensil has only a five minute dry so nothing cooks back on! And wait till you get a load of the 180 Degree Sani Rinse!
Good Luck.
I should have nevr given my friend the one like that I found that was NEVER used and was thrown out to the curb! Still had all the stickers inside..but that was nearly 20 years ago and I am sure he never even hooked it up!

Later Big Ed!

Hi Steve.

I was waiting for Judgement Day. Yes she looks a little tired. But I'm out in the garage detailing her and You won't belive what she looks like now. I'll post some pics in a little while , I'm running out of Steam.

Hi guys, thanks for keeping me in my mind, but unfortunately you are too far away. I only make cross country trips for really special appliances.

Eddie that is one neat machine. Looks like you are doing a great job cleaning her up. Keep us posted on your progress!! Congratulations!

Oh Eddie - this is a great find! And portable to boot. I'm glad the efforts of some elbow grease are working out well. I'm sure you are excited for the first wash. One of these days when the kitchen is done I'll get to run the first wash through the KDS-15 in SS I brought home a month ago.

Congrats again guys!

Ben

Fantastic Find!
I am glad you saved her!
You will have fun with this one!
Love the fact that it is a portable!
Fun!
