OMG !!!!!!
IT'S BEAUTIFUL !!!! I want to come play !!!!! <p>One of my favorite things in the world is to go out walking in the snow at night. It is so peaceful and quiet and all is right in the world. <P> All my snowflakes put together would not make that much snow!

Not anything to compare, but...
Our rainy season was late this year and we have had spotty weather and cooler temps, below normal for here. In the break between rains, I decided to make a makeshift tent for my AMX as its cover had disintegrated, and I didn't want any more water to soak into some of the rust the car has.
So...I used a special tarp that is normally used on those "porta garages" and strapped one end on the garage, and the other tied via ropes onto my other porta garage. It's an ungainly, ugly band aid solution for now.
At the 1/2 way point yesterday, the temps went down like 10 degrees, and out of nowhere, this ice cold rain started to pour down on me. As I was reaching up along side the rooftop to grab the ropes to heave the cover in place, all this water, and HAIL, poured down onto me, down into my long sleeved shirt, and down my chest. Talk about being one of three stooges. What are the odds of that happening?
After the hail shower, I finished up the work, but when I went in, I had "hot face". You know what I mean. I felt really warn out and sick. However, I felt better after a nights rest.
Crazy weather.

Bizarre weather in Chicago too, this weekend it was warm-ish, but also seemed to rain at the drop of a hat.
I was awakened about 1am to a really fierce thunderstorm, so much lightening it was like daylight, thunder, and a driving rain...Much of the area was under tornado watch too...yes its springtime in the midwest, we've had our first Tornado watch!

That photo looks like it could have been taken here in Central WI today too. Schools closed @ Noon, and in some of the northern counties roads were closed also. YUCK!
We're totally shut down in rural SW Minnesota. Most businesses here were closed. Highways were closed until almost noon, and even then the highway patrol was advising no travel due to blowing/drifting snow. I had drifts taller than my snowblower to contend with. Typical Minnesota weather: We had almost no snow and balmy temps all winter, then we get nailed in mid-March.

Kevin where do you live? The sun was out all day yesterday here (bet Culver City and Venice Beach). Would you say that this by and large has been a "typical" winter for LA? Hope you're feeling much better now.

Its starting to get hot already here-85 degrees!Supposed to be thunderstorms and cooler tomorrow-beautiful pictures of the Minn snow!!My folks in South Dakota say their winter has been dry-little snow.

I am out in Chino, way inland.
I understand we broke records for being this cold in March. 69/45 is the average temp for March in my area (as per weather.com) We had a day last week that the high was 49, and the next day, the low was 32. I have never seen it this cold in March.
And we have got most of our rain this month. Even so, we have only got 1/3 the rain we had been getting. Often, February is a rainy month, and we will have at least one or two good storms in Nov/Dec. We had very little rain except for a scattered day or two up to March.
So late rain and cold this year. Hard to believe that over a month ago we went whale watching in Long Beach, and all we needed was a light jacket. You would freeze to death now, and it's a month later. Add to that how bizarre it was to have a 70s and 80s all through February. We had days in Feb. a full 30 degrees warmer than now! Go figure.

YAY for Snow Cover
YAY, finally we get nailed. Its been a rather quiet winter this year, and just as winter is about to end the city gets one last blanket winter white. It's so beautiful outside with the bright blue skies and snow covered city. I'll take a picture in about 15 days when the grass starts to get green and spring will begin, its like living in four different places, without ever having to pack. I just love that.
After living in Florida for three long years from '78 to '81, I could never live without four full seasons ever again.

We also got our one and only big dump of the year this last two weeks after a long and balmy winter. The dogs sure love the snow. I don't mind it that much, the only part I don't like is the meltdown when my driveway and road gets messy and I have to contend with 8 dirty paws tracking into the house. I was just reading in the paper today that this year was the mildest winter on record nationwide since they began keeping records. Last summer was this areas wettest summer and the first time I've actually had to cut the lawn thru July and August because it's usually dried up cept over the septic field. lol
