well they will never match in color but I tried a baby pink icky! then found this color from Valspar it only comes in matt but then you can apply several coats of this clear so im gonna try that they need to dry for a week or so then well try the clear gloss spray stuff

well travis oh no you don't.. im done so done.. I think this is my last great hurrah.. if I can figure out a drain hose thing ill be good to get the washer back together so I can test it out I mean the worst thing is that there is another problem waiting who knows. and the finish may just end up being matt its all I can do short of going to a body shop and that aint gonna happen.. now the trick is talking my partner into helping me get the heavy beast back into the cabnet when its ready ha ha.. well the worst ill get is an eye roll
 
the dryer is fully back together wanted to test it but I bought the wrong cord duh so back to the depot next weekend for that

We'll that did not take you too long to crack the challenge. love the machines and will you get a chance to do a video. I'm impressed that you got a new door seal for the washer. . Well done on such a good job.
 
its all spray can paint.. its a Valspar color but the bad thing it only comes in flat but they also sell a clear topcoat and so far I have used 8 cans of clear but it does say you will need several coats so come next week ill put on another coat or so. I hate spray paint..
 
trust me I thought about going to a totally diff color just to have gloss spray but then I thought I would go to hell for sure
 
Early Westinghouse Space-Mates

Paint job looks great Chris and I think you got the color about right, Westinghouse s pink was not like other companies pink.

 

We are waiting for the videos of these interesting machines running. I still want to put the spin pulley from one of these smaller WH SMs on the full sized 3 belt WH Washers, doing so should up the spin speed about 50 RPMs as these smaller 25" SMs spun faster.
 
hey Andrew.. paul sent me a boot as a gift im not sure where he found this one but im glad he did it may have come from modern.. there used to be a Frigidaire boot that could be retrofitted into a westy but those are all gone too.. ugg.. hey matt, we all do our best and as for me they are as good as I can get them but honest there are other members who do such a better job than I could ever dream of and my hat will always be off to them
 
Door boot

That was an original Q4699, which is the correct one for a Space-Mate Laundromat. I found it when I was doing my first washer restoration (a l950 L5 Laundromat) - I also found that the Q4699 does not substitute for the Q4688, which was the real boot for the Westinghouse L5! Live and learn....
 
would love for you guys to come back that would be awesome.. well update finally got the right cord for the dryer and she runs and sounds fine the timer motor didn't run so I thought what the hell I took it apart and cleaned the dry gunky grease in there and re oiled it and now it runs ye ha
