she is half apart for her cleaning will work on more of it as time goes by but it looks pretty good. the man i got it from is in his late 80s and he said he got it in the mid 60s because they had 8 kids and they used it till the mid 80s then just left it sit.. it was still hooked up and the water was still turned on but i didnt try it so will find out

What a great find, Chris!  These commercial units are so cute in blue.  8 kids.  Wow - that little guy has sure seen a lot of washing then - probably a wise choice for a family that size, other than capacity of course.  Look how nice it is - no rust anywhere?

tad bit on the outter skin will have to look for matching paint but oh well i dont care maybe next weekend if its warm ill crack it open and clean it inside of the outter tub and get her all sealed up.

Very Cool!

So happy to see you got it! It looks in better shape than I thought.

It also looks so simple and easy to work on with that lift off cabinet.

Can't wait to see the progress and hear more.

i have a feeling since its gettin cold i wont get to any paint till spring but thats ok. i have all the parts off that will keep me busy, and i hope this weekend to crack it in half and clean in there as well then reseal and start with putting things back on.. i hope the timer works ha ha and will have to work on some sort of door gasket but its all good..

Very nice looking machine.

Very clean looking.

When I was in college in 1962, there was a Westinghouse Laundromat in Asheville, NC with about 20 of these machines. I was impressed with how quiet they were.

Ross has one in Tucson. Maybe he can help with the age.

Looks like a lot of fun for the winter.

PS I've often wondered whatever happened to the Jacobs Laundryall you were working on. I'd sure love to see that up and running.

Neat find!

I have never seen one with the timer and no coin box. The rectangular window makes it newer than the ones with the round window so it's probably an early 60s machine. Do you know if the man bought it new? I know new Philco Bendix commercial machines were very expensive.

You have all winter to pour a base for it.

Wow Chris that is an awesome find, CONGRATS!   Can't wait to see the "after" photos!

I still haven't gotten too far into mine, but one day.......

Neat Machine!

I have the same machine without the coin box.I got mine off of the SS United States, ocean liner. They were stationed on many of the passenger decks,so they could do their own laundry. The ship was launched in 52 and anything electric was Westinghouse.I have a few of the state room fans and some of the 16inche ones from the public areas.Alot of white 50 or 51 model washers were on the ship, small like the blue ones, also bolt down, but they had round windows with a chrome handle and round chrome bezel around the glass. The electrical items were ordered probably a couple years before the ship was launched. Aferim!

What a wonderful find. I remember seeing people in my family using machines like yours at our local laundromat on First Avenue between 22nd and 23rd streets in the late 50's. I always liked these machines although at the time I had no idea how or how well they worked. They always reminded me of those old Lux egg timers. And I love that light Robin's Egg Blue color.

Wow, Chris, great find! The local laundry in my home town of Pointe-Claire featured Westinghouse commercial machines like this one - so neat to see one again! Congrats!!

well since its cold in the garage work will be slow but ill get there and i will show it off a bit when its done. its pretty simple in there so should not need to much i just hope the timer still works and im gonna look for the door seal for sure... hey jerry the launderall went to marks house poor thing needs a trans box rebuild
