Seeburg jukebox report....

Well.... It's in town, but won't be here until 5:00-5:30 pm. It has rained for 3 or 4 days straight, so we cannot take the juke through the side yard to the grade level door to othe basement. It would just sink into the ground, even on a hand cart. So the juke will have to be unloaded out of the truck and put in the garage for now. I will be playing with it out there tonight for awhile. If Amanda has a camera on her cell, will try to take some pixs, otherwise we have to wait until later this week.

Seeburg update

Got the juke unloaded from the truck and into the garage. Guys from the gym, and boyz from the hood assisting.

It is too cold in the garage for the juke to operate properly. The rack moves very slowly, but does make a selection. After it makes the selection, it rejects just after the tone arm sets down on the record. Everyone here wanted to see it work, but I was afraid to let the V200 operate like that. Instead, we went down the basement and played the Seeburg Q-160.

Will try to get the V200 down the basement next weekend, weather permiting. Until then, I am not going to mess with it. It is too risky playing around with it in the unheated damp garage. The juke does not have a grounded power cord either.

The V200 is in very good condition, and the owner (Ken) even sent me a very nice note about the history of the jukebox. Seems that Ken bought this juke as a gift for his father in 1977. His father passed on in 2005, so Ken put the juke up for sale. I will post a copy of the note for everyone here to read. The note and the pin will always stay with this juke. I am also going to send Ken a bottle of my special grape wine.

Great story

That's a wonderful story! I can't wait to see it. My mom has a juke and I loved playing with it when I grew up. I still have all my 45's from the 80's that I used to listed to in there.

Hey Rick, got any contacts for me out this way re: my wall-mount 1960 Rockola? It's working OK but needs some help and would appreciate any leads you can give me on local people I can contact or web sites that are good resources. My sister also has a '57 Seeburg she has said she's ready to let go. She's in LA if you know anyone who might be interested.

Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Ralph

Wow, that's a great backstory on the jukebox. You should think about framing that letter----the juke obviously had some serious emotional value for him.

Can't wait til you get it inside and up-and-running at a safe temp so we can see pics, Rick.

Thanks guys just got home, oh, what a day....

Rp2813, I use Harold Hagen, and he is in Seattle.

Someone else on this site has jukes and they have their work done by someone in California. Perhaps they could post the link to their guys web page.

Forgot to add.... The weather should be cold and dry for this weekend. Gonna gather up the boyz and have them put the V200 in the basement this Saturday. Yaaay!
