Hello! I’m planning on purchasing a beautiful double oven/range made by Westinghouse in, I believe, the early 70’s. Model number is KC 535 ADD, and serial number is KBJ 80352. I’m having difficult finding the owners manual or service manual, which would be very useful as I’m told the clock isn’t functioning, nor is the task light. I’d also love if someone could help me decode the serial number to know when it was made. Thanks so much in advance for your help!

(Picture is not the specific one I’m purchasing, as the seller only posted numerous closeups of features, not the whole item. I found this image on google and it’s practically identical)

Ah, you're correct - it is a White-Westinghouse. I should've been more specific, but I admit I didn't know there was a difference beyond badging. So I might find the same model marketed under the Gibson, Kelvinator, or Philco brand-names?

White Westinghouse Hilow range, this was a Kelvinator design. They were decent ranges, but it wasn’t a Westinghouse.

Overall I would rate a white Westinghouse and an and aTappan and a Westinghouse and a whirlpool high low range about equal.

The class act in high-quality high low ranges were the GE’s and the hot points and occasionally you’ll see a Penncrest JCPenney range that was made by GE these were far better ranges, but all of them can be decent the condition at this point in time is also very important it’s not like we can just go to the store and buy the best one any longer.

Thank you for that info, John! I'll have to track down that Kelvinator model then to find the user/service manual.

I'm fortunate that in this case the unit I'm purchasing is almost perfect, and barely used. Both ovens and all four burners get hot quickly. The clock and task light are malfunctioning but I'm hoping that the latter is just a bulb and the former is an easy fix. And I'm actually picking up two identical units, one more well-used, so I'll have one for parts should that be needed in the future.
