Hi everybody,

last weekend we went to a coin-operated laundry in Wiesbaden, where they still have in use Westinghouse-Laundromats from 1962.

It was really fascinating to do the laundry in the machines :-).
The sound is so brilliant...

Unfortunately the owner will close it in december so we are tyring to find somebody to continue the business and save this piece of history...

Greetings from Germany
Kai

Thanks Kai

Great pictures Kai!
Looks like you guys had lot's of fun!
Amazing that the owner is holding on to his vintage machines.
Thanks for the follow-up repost!

Westy washers and Bock spinner

Thats interesting about the Westinghouse washers in your laundramat in Germany.Looks like the owner of it at that time wanted the Westinghouse machines and ordered them. From their nameplates they were equipped for the power and frequency you use.The nameplates on the Westy machines and the Bock spinner indicate they were built in their factories in Ohio-USA.also like what looked like the Heaters "added" onto the Westy washers.I used a Bock spinner like the one you pictured in a Landrymat in Cocoa ,Beach Fla in the mid 1960's.

Those Huebsch dryers are vintage, too. I remember those from the Sixties. And notice the Bock extracter is using a zone (11)instead of a Zip Code on the model plate, which dates it to pre-1963, or just after before they could change the plates. Today it would be 43611
