Westinghouse front loader:

Guys this machine is identical to the one that my aunt Helen had when she lived in Genesee/Hickox, Pa. when I was very small she had it in the bathroom and and I was maybe all of 3 or 4yrs old and it went in to the spin cycle and it would walk the floor. Well you can guess what I did I ran out of the bathroom so fast crying it was going to get me with my pants around my anckles. I did not like the thing when it went into the spin cycle, but loved to watch it wash. It was very entertaining.

It wouldn't even look "normal" without some water dripping down the front! I don't know if I ever remember one that didn't leak water or suds! Part of that Rustinghouse "magic".

It gives it "character". Can't wait to see the photo's.

GyraSteve: I agree; none of those Rustinghouses look normal without a little drip...even my 1993 model leaks from the door!! You would think they could have come up with a better seal between door and machine! ;-)

The Scrubbing Dome is the cone-shaped "dome" on the back of the Westinghouse drum that the clothes slide and flex over as they are tumbling. You'll love it!

Repair Manual

I think I have a repair manual for the Westinghouse Front Load washers, (the early models also). I will start looking for it. When you can. let me know the year and model number. If I can find the manual, it is YOURS!

First the power cord is NOT grounded.

Then this..the hose connector threads are-
one of metal and
one of plastic.

The COLD side is metal.. (scratches head, HUH?)
Were these replaced/sold separately then?

LOL...and the biggest mystery in the universe..what the heck is that third hole there for?

and here was the truck I rented today to retrieve my baby girl.

ARIZONA plates /tags. This is a good omen for the upcoming wash-in I thought!

3 vacuum style coffee pots
2 vintage toaster
1 vintage aluminum percolator-styel coffee pot
(my gradmother had the same one) *SIGH*

liquid dish deteregent
soap pad (brillo)
CAMEO stainlees steel and aluminum cleaner

and the hot cycle of the dishwaser for the glass and plastic items and VIOLA !

All in all a PITA but what great fun !

45 miles to and 45 from to get the washer..

BUT WORTH IT. I can see why estate sales become addictive.
