Morning All,

Bit of a long shot but thought i would just pop out this out there on the off chance, i am trying to track down the badge / emblem that goes on the front of the my Westinghouse LTF-600 washing from 1964.

It was classed as a "Heavy duty" washer as this is what the badge reads together with the Westinghouse logo "W" i think.

Any leads would be appreciated, but understand it one may take a while to surface.

Kind regards

1960s Westinghouse heavy duty emblem

Hi Keith, I probably have one of those. I will have to do a little digging, but I have whole boxes full of all the emblems that were saved off older appliances, and I certainly don’t need it.

Remind me if I don’t get back to you but I’ll try to check.

Hi John,

Saviour once again (hopefully) thanks for looking !

Also, these machines have a dual solenoid which are coupled into a single feed into the machine, mine is quite noisy when both hot and cold feeds are energised is that ok ?

I absolutely love this machine, and i believe it is the closet i am going to get to the English Electric Reversomatic equivalent albeit my machine is not unidirectional like the EE (Pic of the EE machine below)

Thanks again :)
Keith

Re-posting - Westinghouse LTF-600

Morning All,

I know it is a long shot, but I am trying to locate a Westinghouse “Heavy Duty” badge for this machine.

Happy to pay all shipping costs etc

It would just complete this wonderful machine.

Cheers Keith

Westinghouse heavy duty emblem

Hi Keith, I did finally check and I do not have the correct emblem. I thought I might have these around. Hopefully Justin can send you one. I will continue to keep a lookout for one if he doesn’t have one that he can send.

Heavy duty, Westinghouse washer

I believe Westinghouse was the first company to use the heavy duty logo on their washers and dryers in the mid 60s, around 1963 Frigidaire started calling their washers the sturdy washer.

It was only a few years until virtually every washer and dryer said heavy duty in the US, Maytag was the only hold out and in the mid 70s when everybody was making hay about the fact that their machines were heavy duty our Maytag sales rep showed up one day with a bunch of little heavy duty stickers and started sticking them on all the Maytag washers and dryers on the showroom floor.

I remember one customer coming to buy a Maytag washer and she said I don’t want one that’s heavy duty. I just want a regular one lol, so I removed the sticker. I said that she gets will not say heavy duty on it anyway.

Afternoon John,

I think the tub light bulb has gone on the Westinghouse LTF-600, would you know is this a standard blub or specialised bulb ?

Kind regards
Keith

P.s - still looking for that badge - one day hopefully :)
