Checking Over a New Mid 60S Westinghouse Washer
Hi Keith, I would remove the pack panel and check that everything moves freely and maybe put a few drops of light machine oil on the idler idler pulley bearing, rear pump idler bearing and the rear helix spring behind the large black center pulley. You just remove the 1/2"bolt in the center and it lifts off easily [ this spring was greased at the factory but a few drops of light oil will rejuvenate the grease ]and reassemble.
I would also poor about a gallon of very hot tap water in the tub and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
