What a great looking machine! It would be nice if they were still made today as I would want one. I don't remember these in the laundromats but I do remember seeing and using the other Westinghouse POD commercial machine for laundromats that are in blue. I can remember mom using them in the local laundromat when her Westinghouse front loader broke down and it finally going to the curb.

con't

Our Fell's Point Laundry had all the small Laundromat washers on two ailes and a row of the "Double Load" reversing Laundromat front loaders in the back of the shop. They were there until around 1986.They replaced all the wasahers with the Dexters, renamed the laundry to Knights Laundromat and replaced the old gas Cicell dryers to Dexters also. They removed the original iluminated Westinghouse Laundromat Eqyuiped sign and replaced it with a cheap metal sign with a knight drawn and painted on it.The owner refused to tell me what became of the old sign but,his brother owned an antique store just a few doors up and I bet that was what happened to it. I had asked him, years before,to let me know if they ever got rid of the sign or were to close up shop,to tell me and I'd make an offer.Never happened. Oh well.

I think its cool that tumble direction changed 4 times a minute, any more would be seem excessive. If you count the tumble drain thats 13 minutes of wash time, pretty generous. alr2903
