That is the design that was top rated in CU's dishwasher report in late 1965 with the Kitchen Aid 15 series and WP models, I believe. It will hold a lot and the silverware basket can fit in the lower rack running front to back to the right of the wash tower.
I had this exact machine - found at a thrift store in 1991 or so. It was missing the black cycle indicator ring on the control knob, but I marked a notch for "off" at the end of the dry period and just turned the knob slightly to start the machine. It cleaned beautifully and I used it for a couple of years and passed it on to a friend when I inherited a Maytag Jetclean portable from my parents. Tom used the Westinghouse in his apartment for 5-6 more years, he had scalding hot water which helped performance a lot.

Nice shape for the age. I'll bet it served as an excellent microwave or tv stand for many years.
Nice blue tub too.
It probably has not a stitch of sound insulation and can be heard from several homes down the block. But that's easily fixed.

User's manual gives both locations as options.
I agree with Ralph. It's not a KitchenAid and only KitchenAd should have flatware baskets in the fornt like that!!!
The wholly spartan appearance reminds me of that portable Bradford which dishwasher we'd long owned, which was supposedly only available in white if it wasn't gold to match its equally small capacity top freezer frost free fridge and similarly basic electric range with the knibs above the oven and boasting a lighted clock and timer and lighted windowed oven... We'd gone washing dishes by hand when it broke, having my grandma's bottom of the line Kenmore working for a short time afterwards just to now be used for storing some myriad plastic storage containers and not much else...
Wonder what that Radiant Rinse is all about--consolation that it will rinse everything alright, considering how limited it washing probably is, and I remember our silverware basket being vertical, too--not to mention that small washing tower andcthose similar shaped racks and two arm washing blade...

radiant rinse = rinse agent injector. This unit, though, with it's 100% filtration, was at the top of the performance game mid-60s along with KA and Whirlpool. The WCI buyout of the '70s de-contented these so badly, making them a joke (they only regained a small semblance of performance with a 1988 redesign that re-established a filter).
