Pull before turning ! Without a care and use manual or any other instructions would you believe it took me 15 years to figure out how to properly start my 195? lemon yellow westinghouse dishwasher! Better late than never. Actually it took me about that long to get the machine installed and working. Here is a photo. If anybody knows for sure what year this machine comes from I sure would love to know for sure. This machine washes beautifully. Thanks a million. BOB

OOOH! I love those Westy pull-out models!! I think it may be a mid-50's model, but dishwashercrazy would know for sure - he has one just like this!!
Congratulations on getting it up and running again!!

nearly identical

My racks are shaped a little differently. I will try to get a photo uploaded right away and will also try to provide the model number. Is yours also lemon yellow? I would love to see any care or use manual for the machine too if anybody has one. Cool.

DWDA24-2 STYLE C92791

That is the model and style number of mine. Notice how your lower rack has circular loops while mine has triangular shaped ones.

upper rack

Also different. Notice the flat rectangular piece which makes the water dash sideways across the silver ware basket. And your cup racks appear to be more intricate than the ones in my machine.

hey well yea your racks are diff but the impeller is the same. mine was white and when i got it along the way it had been painted yellow and then sort of blue and then white again so now she is her orig white.. i think mine is an early 50s maybe 52-53

195?

I guess my model is about a 1955. Do you have any photos of the front of your machine? I have a booklet called IDEAS. . . for Westinghouse Confection Color kitchens by decorator-designer Melanie Kahane which is where I learned the color names. It shows my exact same dishwasher front even though only in rendered art form. The colors were called lemon yellow , sugar white , nougat gray , cinnamon (brown) , frosting pink , apple red , and mint aqua (green) . The cinnamon and the apple red are choose-n-change panel colors which are intermixed with other colors for a dramatic look. It could be that these were the first color choices from westinghouse and that your white machine was made before these were available. It is difficult to be sure even though its westinghouse.
